The Story
Pfc Thomas Turner was killed in action on 10 June 1944, serving with Company E, 2nd Battalion, 115th Infantry Regiment. On 10 June 1944, the 2nd Battalion, 115th Infantry, was in the vicinity of La Folie, working to regain full control of its companies after a difficult overnight action. With daylight, the battalion reorganized under the command of Lt. Col. Arthur T. Sheppe, absorbing replacements to rebuild its strength and restore order within its ranks. The day was spent consolidating positions and preparing the battalion to continue operations in the days ahead. Pfc Turner was killed in action that day; the report does not specify the individual circumstances.
