On 27 June 1944, Company C of the 121st Engineer Combat Battalion worked in the 175th Infantry's sector, screening a road from enemy observation to protect movement along it. Alongside Company A, the men cut gaps through hedgerows to open clear fields of fire for anti-tank weapons positioned in the area. Company C also returned to clear booby traps that had earlier been laid by their own battalion's troops, removing the hazard from the sector.
