The Story
Pfc Eugene Kuc was killed in action on 20 June 1944, serving with Company C, 121st Engineer Combat Battalion. On 20 June 1944, the 121st Engineer Combat Battalion held its position in the vicinity of grid 526683 while the 3rd Battalion, 115th Infantry, launched an attack against a nearby enemy strongpoint from the left flank. The engineers remained in place through the action, supporting the broader effort without shifting from their assigned location during the fighting.
