The Story
Pfc Raymond Berryman was killed in action on 16 June 1944, serving with Company C, 104th Medical Battalion. On 16 June 1944, the 104th Medical Battalion moved at 1200 hours and set up its aid station in the chateau opposite the village church at Moon-sur-Elle. From this position, the battalion's medical personnel treated 41 casualties that day, working amid the ongoing fighting to provide care to the wounded brought in from the surrounding area. Pfc Berryman was killed in action that day; the report does not specify the individual circumstances.
