The Story

Pfc Toussaint Richard was reported missing in action on 10 June 1944, serving with Company C, 104th Medical Battalion. On 10 June 1944, the 104th Medical Battalion set up a treatment station at short notice to receive and care for casualties coming from the units advancing ahead of them. That evening, at 1915 hours, the battalion moved out by truck and reached Lison, where it took over the recently vacated Lison Girls' School and the grounds around it to continue operations. Over the course of the day, the battalion evacuated 56 casualties from the front to receive further medical care. Pfc Richard was reported missing in action that day.
